Discover Exmoor at Moorlands - where countryside and comfort combine ...
MOORLANDS is set in six acres of grounds within the Exmoor National Park, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Christine and Ian Corderoy offer visitors, seeking good quality and comfortable accommodation, a warm and friendly welcome. Special offers are usually available throughout the year for those wishing to stay that bit longer ( see Tariff)
Woody Bay
Surrounded by arable farmland and wild moor, the beautiful
Woody Bay and the stunning South West Coast Path, within two miles walk or drive
are well worth a visit. The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are only
four miles away, offering a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
A little further afield are the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe and
Croyde for those who prefer the sun, sea or surf.
Colonel Benjamin Green Lake built Moorlands in the late 19th Century as a gentlemans residence as part of his plans to develop the Wooda Bay Estate. Subsequently at the turn of the century Starkey Knight and Ford, a local brewery, re-openned the property as the Station Hotel to provide shelter for travellers on the Lynton to Barnstaple railway. In recent years it has been extended to provide both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation, our emphasis now being on quiet relaxation. Evening meals are available in our licensed dinning room and coffee served in our residents lounge with real fire during the colder months
Horse
riding, tennis, golf, fresh and sea fishing are all available in the area.
Explore Exmoor either with map and compass, or a short stroll through our garden
will find the Woody Bay Station a beautifully restored narrow guage railway
offering rides (approximately 1 mile) to Killington Lane, from which walks are available to
Heddon Hall, Parracombe or through the beautiful Heddon Valley to the sea.
Alternatively, just relax
or swim in the secluded outdoor pool (Pool open May to the end of August
only).
